I drop by the movie set, they have no use for me
So I go back home to the studio
They tell me I'm not recoring today
Should I go to MY FRIENDS HOUSE?
I'm all alone---
In this big town---
What Should I do?

I write, I paint and listen to some music
Then I write a song or two
I'm thinking of you
I'm STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT
I'm not going through
I'm not going through
I'll write another line or two
I'll write another line or two

STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT
Just another break in my day
STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT
Until I'm back on my way

The light turns green,
and I can see MY FRIEND'S HOUSE
I'm up at his door,
He leads me into the front room
Is this the same room I was in-
Yesterday? Something's changed
The furniture's new. Oh well.
Nice to have seen you.

Stopped at a red light
