Mother tied her apron in the shadow of the moon
She never thought she'd need the Slippery Spoon
And she didn't know that father was upstairs
Treating the women as if he was theirs

I was in in a pool hall by the name of THE BLUE CUE
Mother never knew that I was missing school
So they called her up and told her where I'd been
Then she found father all covered in sin

I know it's my fault that things ended up this way
I missed my school just one too many days

No, my mother won't cry when they sing her this sad song
Now that she's done and he's been gone so long

Now my mother sits up 'til everything is fine
I pay the cost 'cause there can't be much time
'Til she drifts away there's no need to cry
I'm grown and so, now, I wish she would to die
I wish she would to die
I wish she would to die
I was in in a pool hall by the name of The Blue Cue
